Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation for individuals requiring non-emergency medical transport. We aim to enhance patient outcomes by ensuring timely, efficient, and compassionate transport services, while fostering strong relationships with healthcare providers and patients alike.
- General Guidelines
Patient-Centered Care: Every decision and action taken by Mobility Transporters LLC is focused on the well-being and safety of the patient.
Respect & Professionalism: Our employees are expected to treat patients, healthcare staff, and colleagues with respect, professionalism, and compassion at all times.
Adherence to Schedules: Timeliness is critical. Employees must make every effort to adhere to scheduled pickup and drop-off times.
Confidentiality: All patient information must be kept confidential at all times in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Employee Conduct & Professionalism
Employees of Mobility Transporters LLC must uphold the highest standards of conduct, professionalism, and customer service. This includes:
Attire: Employees must wear appropriate uniforms and identification badges at all times.
Behavior: Personal conversations or distractions are prohibited during transport. Employees should maintain a professional demeanor with patients and healthcare staff.
Communication: Employees should always communicate clearly and effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and fellow team members. Any issues or concerns should be addressed promptly and professionally.
- Transport Procedures
Patient Identification
Verify Patient Identity: Before beginning transport, all employees must verify the patient’s name, room number, and transport order. This should be done by cross-checking the work order provided by the dispatch team with the patient’s information at the pickup location.
Confirm Special Requirements: Ensure that any specific requirements related to the patient’s condition (e.g., stretcher or wheelchair) are understood and met.
Equipment Setup (Wheelchair/Stretcher)
Proper Equipment Selection: Always ensure that the appropriate transport equipment is used:
Wheelchair Mode: For patients who can sit upright and do not require extensive medical supervision during transport.
Stretcher Mode: For patients who require lying down during transport or those who are bedridden or have mobility issues.
The Traversa Wheelchair/Stretcher Convertible should always be set to stretcher mode for patients requiring stretcher transport. A clear checklist will be used to confirm this setup prior to leaving the facility.
Inspection of Equipment: All equipment must be checked for safety and functionality before use. Ensure that the stretcher is securely locked, and that all wheels and straps are in proper working order.
Transport Protocol
Safe Handling of Patients: When moving patients, employees must ensure proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Use of lifting equipment is mandatory where required.
Patient Comfort & Safety: Patients should be transported in a manner that minimizes discomfort or distress. Always secure the patient using safety straps when on a stretcher.
No Interruption During Transport: Personal conversations or mobile phone use is prohibited while transporting patients. The focus must remain on patient care and transport safety.
Communication & Documentation
Communication with Healthcare Providers: Upon arrival at the transport location, employees must check in with the attending nurse or facility staff. Any discrepancies with the transport order (e.g., wrong patient or equipment) must be immediately reported.
Documentation: Employees must complete all required paperwork, confirming the patient’s name, destination, and time of pickup/drop-off. This documentation should be submitted to the dispatch team upon completion of each transport.
- Emergency Procedures
In case of emergency situations (e.g., patient medical emergencies, accidents, etc.) during transport:
Contact 911 Immediately if there is any medical emergency or if the patient’s condition deteriorates.
Notify the Dispatch Team as soon as possible, and provide them with the necessary details for documentation.
Secure the Scene: If there’s an accident or incident, ensure the safety of the patient and all involved parties. Do not attempt to move the patient unless necessary for safety reasons.
- Quality Control & Compliance
Routine Audits: Mobility Transporters LLC will conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with policies, including random reviews of work orders, patient transports, and employee performance.
Feedback from Clients: We welcome feedback from clients (e.g., hospitals, nursing facilities) to continuously improve our service. Any complaints or concerns will be promptly addressed by our management team.
- Training & Development
All employees will undergo an initial training program and periodic refresher courses to ensure they remain up-to-date with the latest procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Initial Training: Every new hire must complete comprehensive training covering all aspects of patient transport, safety protocols, and company policies before being assigned any transport duties.
Ongoing Education: All employees will undergo annual training to review policy updates, new equipment, and best practices in patient care and transport.
